KING CITY, Calif. — Residents and businesses on streets included in King City’s 2026 pavement rehabilitation work are being warned about temporary driveway access restrictions as crews carry out road resurfacing.
In an official bilingual notice, the city scheduled repaving work from Thursday, October 22, through Friday, October 30, 2026, subject to change. The notice says vehicles on streets being paved may not be able to drive in or out of affected driveways between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the relevant paving day.
What to do if your street is affected
Before the scheduled paving work on their block, residents should consider moving vehicles to lawful parking outside the designated work area if they expect to need transportation during the day. The city advises that vehicles may need to remain parked outside the paving zone or in the driveway until work on that day is complete.
The official city announcement contains a map showing affected streets. Residents should check the city’s News Flash pavement project announcement and attached map rather than assume the restrictions apply everywhere in King City. The exact sequence of work may change.
Road and pedestrian improvements
The city’s earlier project description explains that the broader rehabilitation includes milling and resurfacing roadways as well as replacing selected curb ramps for pedestrian accessibility. It separately listed general construction hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; residents should follow the more specific 7 a.m.–5 p.m. driveway notice for the current paving period.
